A husband, a wife, and a 3D printer.
Adiva Decor is what happens when two people in Pune decide their tiny new family deserves a tiny new business. Here’s how it started.
It started with a flexy keychain on Instagram.
My wife Divya and I had been talking for months about starting something together. Every idea we considered was too expensive, too risky, or too far from anything we knew — so we kept saving the conversation for later.
Then one evening, scrolling Instagram in our apartment in Pune, a sponsored ad popped up: a small flexy keychain that bent and twisted in ways plastic shouldn’t. I tapped it, I read about it, and for the first time I learned about 3D printing.
A few weeks later, our son Agastya was born. Divya went home to her parents for postpartum recovery while I stayed back in Pune, working out a notice period at my corporate job, alone in the apartment with more free time than I’d had in years.
So I went deep. I read everything I could find about 3D printers, materials, and what was actually possible. I landed on the Bambu Lab A1 — the “Apple of 3D printers.” Premium, but reachable.
She helped me arrange the money, and we ordered our first printer. We started small — vases, bow jewelry holders, catchall trays — pieces we wanted in our own home. We listed them online, and within weeks strangers across India were buying. Then ordering again. Then ordering in bulk for weddings, bridal showers, and corporate gifts.
We bought a second printer, the A1 Mini, and a third is on order because we’re still falling behind. Every coil of filament we buy is paid for by the orders before it.
Today, Adiva is just the two of us (and a newborn boy who napped through the launch of his parents’ business). Three printers in a small studio in Pune. Every piece made to order. Every order genuinely meaningful.
Thank you for being part of how we build this.
